Keeping everyone in the dark

We've had a few reports in these dark mornings and evenings of near misses with cyclists who don't use lights (and it's often adults). And there was the confused cyclist we saw on Badminton Road with a white light on the back and a red light on the front. Cyclists, please check your lights - and motorists, please watch out for cyclists.

  1. Your comments seem sadly topical, coming a day before an Olympic cycling hopeful died in an accident in Scotland.

  2. I can only echo the Editor's plea to all push bike users. The other evening whilst walking my dog along Shire Way I saw two cyclists riding side by side - neither had lights on! How stupid! Thanks to the quick reactions of motorists a very nasty accident was avoided.
